Cricket-mad kids driving you crazy this summer holiday? Harpenden Cricket Club are inviting the public to some exciting T20 fixtures this Friday.

The matches are being held to remember Harpenden resident and journalist Steve Hewlett, who died on Monday, February 2017 after being diagnosed with cancer in 2016.

There will be a match featuring a veterans team, the Red Bats from Manchester, facing off against Steve’s friends and colleagues from Harpenden.

The other match will be one of Harpenden Cricket Club’s younger sides playing a team of young players captained by Steve’s sons, Bertie and Billy.

Club president Geoff Newman said: “I’m sure there will be plenty of support from people at the matches.”

The matches will be held at the club’s Harpenden Common ground and will begin at approximately 1pm.
