There’s bloomin’ good fun to be had at a pop-up flower picking bonanza at a Harpenden farm.

Green-fingered youngsters can head down to the Pick Your Own Sunflower Patch farm, just off M1 junction nine, and pick from ten different varieties of sunflowers across the ten-acre field.

There is also a straw maze for anyone ready to lose themselves in the holiday celebrations.

The event is being run by a fifth generation farmer, Ian Pigott, and has been set up after the success of a Pick Your Own Pumpkin Patch event last Halloween.

It is open from 10am to 4pm every day until at least August 19, but maybe longer if weather permits. Parking and entry is free and booking is not necessary. No dogs or smoking allowed.
