Lydekker Park will play host to a jazz concert this September for the new Music in Lydekker event.

The event, being held between 11am and 2pm on Saturday, September 1, will be free to attend and families are welcome, though it is aimed more at adults.

Local musicians Miles and George Golding will open the event with a duet of guitar and violin in the Gypsy Jazz style.

They will be followed by the seven-piece Jazz Revisited band, who will be playing swinging jazz standards, rags and dance numbers for the rest of the event.

Harpenden mayor David Heritage said: “It is a privilege to once again be hosting a community event in the gorgeous setting of Lydekker Park. This event will be a great source of entertainment for music lovers in Harpenden and is a fantastic opportunity to showcase some of the fantastic local talent we have here in the town.”

Champagne will be available from The Bubble and Fizz Bar and audience members are being encouraged to bring their own blankets and picnics.
