Harpenden Seniors Fair is a free event which will take place on Tuesday 16 October at Harpenden Public Halls from 10.30am -1.30 pm.
It is organised by Harpenden Seniors Forum, which aims to keep seniors informed about what is available for them in the town. Thirty six organisations will be taking stands in the main hall, while Harpenden Village WI will be providing refreshments in the small hall in aid of Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
As well as regular exhibitors such as Computer Friendly and the Harpenden Trust, there will be several new exhibitors including Connecting Harpenden, which is launching a new website to inform people about voluntary organisations and services.
Other new exhibitors include Hertswise, Citizens Advice St Albans District, Prostate Cancer UK, Hertfordshire Health Walks, and new commercial exhibitors Nannies 4 Grannies Ltd., Home Instead Senior Care and PegasusLife Park House.
Fiona Gaskell, chairman of Harpenden Seniors Forum, said: “We are expecting at least four hundred visitors, and there will be more space than last year as we will have full use of both halls.
“As well as browsing the stalls and enjoying refreshments, this is an opportunity for seniors to join Harpenden Seniors Forum.
“The organisation is free to join, and members receive a free newsletter twice a year with information on events and what is going on in Harpenden for seniors.
“Seniors can join free by calling our phoneline 01582 462926 between 10am and 12pm and speaking to one of our friendly volunteers.”
