Keeping the tots entertained over a whole six week summer holiday can be difficult.

To help parents along the way, St Albans district council are running a play scheme for children until August 31 - when they go back to school.

Monday to Friday a team of play coordinators will run fun and active sessions in 15 parks across the district, including in Harpenden.

Youngsters between three and 12 can turn up and join in the Play in the Parks get-together completely free of charge, but children under eight must be supervised by an adult.

Every Tuesday there will be a session in Rothamsted Park by the Rose Gardens and on Thursdays it will be held at the Marquis Lane Open Space.

It takes place at these venues from 12pm to 2pm.
