Find out more about what Harpenden was like during World War One at a talk tonight.

Everyone is invited to the Harpenden and District Local History Society’s monthly meeting tonight at 8pm in the Harpenden Public Halls on Southdown Road.

Jonathan Sinfield will be speaking about his grandfather and great uncle in a talk entitled William and Leonard Fisher, Mesopotamia and The Somme – Life and Death in WWI.

These brothers were born in the Thatched Cottage, near Batford Mill on the Lower Luton Road.

Although the talk is free, a donation of £3 for non-members is gratefully accepted.

There will also be a book and information stall.
