A Wheathampstead choir will be serenading shoppers at Southdown Co-Op in the run-up to Christmas.

Wheathampstead Clover Singing Club will be performing on Monday, December 10 at 11am ahead of the launch of the club’s Southdown branch in January.

Musical director Charlotte Vickerstaff said: “The repertoire is varied and fun.

“We try all sorts of songs and genres - from rounds to folk and quiet meditative songs to full-scale rock ballads, although nothing too classical or difficult to follow.

“Members don’t have to read music and there aren’t any auditions.

“The only requirements are a willingness to give it a go and to have a laugh.”

The Wheathampstead club currently has 38 members and is a day-time choir for retired women.
