We may only be a couple of weeks into 2019 but Rennie Grove Hospice Care is already seeking participants for this year’s Herts 10K which takes place in Harpenden on Sunday October 13.

Tracey Hancock, director of fundraising at Rennie Grove said: “Booking your place now means you can take advantage of the early bird discounted entry fee, and gives you plenty of time to train and get friends and family to support you.”

Book before Thursday January 31 and the first 200 people can register for just £16.

Book before Thursday February 28 and the next 300 entries can register for £18.

After these dates, registration reverts to the standard rate of £22.

All entry fees include race entry, a technical T-shirt, a finisher’s medal, chip timing and water en-route.

“The Herts 10K is Rennie Grove’s biggest fundraising event each year. It provides a great opportunity to join with thousands of others to complete the course whilst experiencing a wonderful feeling of community and lots of support along the route,” Tracey added.

2018 headline sponsors of the Herts 10K, Harpenden-based Plowman Craven, entered a team of runners in 2018.

Peter Folwell, who is a director at the surveying company explained that there was a lot more to their involvement than sponsorship.

He said: “A big group of us at Plowman Craven trained as part of a health and wellbeing initiative – we wanted to promote a healthy lifestyle for our team and our continued support for Rennie Grove and the Herts 10K was a great way to round off that initiative.

“I’ve run this event three times now and I love that local people come together and support one another and a wonderful local cause at the same time.”

If you want to experience the unique atmosphere and camaraderie of participating in the Herts 10K challenge with thousands of others, whilst raising much needed funds to support Rennie Grove’s 24/7 Hospice at Home service, then please visit www.herts10k.com and book your place now.

Don’t forget to take advantage of the early bird discount by booking your place before February 28.

Good luck!
