A new family-friendly restaurant is bringing the flavours of Thailand to Harpenden.
Giggling Squid, which currently has 27 venues around the UK, is set to open in Amenbury Lane in September.
The restaurant was founded in 2002 by Thai-born Pranee Laurillard and her husband Andrew in the basement of a tiny fisherman’s cottage in Brighton, and named after the nickname for one of their three children.
Giggling Squid will be open for lunch and dinner, with room to cater for 108 guests. There will also be a bar lounge area and outdoor seating.
The menu, prepared by a team of Thai chefs, will feature lunchtime tapas, curries, salads, rice and noodles, and lends itself to the sharing culture of Thailand. There will also be a ‘little tapas for little people’ menu for children.
Pranee said: “We love the village feel of Harpenden and we’re really excited to launch Giggling Squid and make our mark in this fantastic location.
“It’s such a lovely town with so much going on and we are really looking forward to being a part of the community.”
