Our next meeting is on Friday January 4 from 10am to 1pm.
Carol Hedges, a published author, is warmly welcomed back and she plans to present ‘Murder and Mayhem’: a morning of Victorian crime fiction and will lead an interactive discussion for the first hour.
Carol writes on: “Why the Victorians are such fun to write about, and how far historical fiction should *stick to the facts* (It’s a bit of an issue at the moment). The new book (the seventh) is called Fear & Phantoms. I’ll have a few copies of six in the series if people want to buy them.”
For the second part of the meeting please bring any seasonal or light-hearted pieces of your own work for a read around or if you weren’t able to read out your monologue from the last meeting bring that too.
Please note this is an extended session where we enjoy our New Year Party and members are asked to bring along some finger food to share together with (non-alcoholic) drinks - a lovely opportunity to catch up with everyone and welcome in 2019.
Attendance fee is £2 for members but friends, guests and non-members are also welcome for just £5.
Look forward to seeing everyone at 10am.
Venue: Friends’ Meeting House, 12 Southdown Road, Harpenden AL5 1PD
Please also remember the closing date for entries to our Annual Prose and Poetry competition on the loose theme of ‘Subversion’ is Friday February 1 2019.
