A Harpenden primary school has been named one of the top 10 performing primary schools in the county.

Manland Primary School in Sauncey Avenue made the list of the top 10 maintained performing primary schools in Hertfordshire, according to recently published government league tables.

The league tables showed the results of SATS exams, which the children sat in May 2018.

Ninety-three per cent of children at the school achieved the expected standard, with pupils making above average progress in reading, writing and maths.

Headteacher Claire Wicks said: “We are thrilled to see the results in this publication of performance data. The school works tirelessly to ensure that every child achieves his or her full potential during their time with us.

“The fact that so many of our children reached the expected standard is fantastic; we are just as proud to see that our children make such great progress in Reading, Writing and Maths, whatever their starting point may be.”
