Despite concerns about the state of Britain’s high streets after Brexit, one Harpenden independent is feeling positive about the future.

Family-run motorcycle shop The Two Wheel Centre on Westfield Road have just announced they will soon be stocking two new European brands in the coming weeks.

There will be eight vehicles available from a mix of French brand Mash and Italian maker SMW, ranging from 50cc to 440cc.

Co-owner of the shop, Nick Nomikos, said: “My personal opinion is that Brexit won’t make a difference. They [the Government] put the sugar tax up and people are still going around drinking coke, I don’t think anyone is going to stop buying BMWs, Audis and Mercedes just because they have to pay more.

“I see it in a positive, not a negative, way.”

He said the French and Italian brands were relative newcomers to the British market that offer good quality with a more affordable price tag.

The range will be officially launched in the shop on September 29 between 9am to 12pm, at the monthly coffee morning.
