A Harpenden garage celebrated its 30th anniversary serving motorists in the town.
The Kwik Fit on High Street served its first customer when Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister - opening its doors for the first time in June 1989.
As with all early Kwik Fit centres, the focus in Harpenden was on fitting tyres and replacing exhausts.
The business has since expanded into a full range of services, including MOTs, diagnostics, air con servicing and battery replacement.
Motorists have seen significant changes since the centre launched. In 1989, only children and front seat passengers were required to wear seatbelts - these became compulsory for all riders in 1991.
Harpenden centre manager Vicky Pike said: "Much has changed in the 30 years and we're happy to have been serving the Harpenden community since 1989.
"We look forward to future developments in motoring and hope to remain a fixture in the community for years to come."
