After the summer break the Harpenden Gardening Society recommences the autumn series of evening get-togethers with guest speakers featuring a range of topical gardening related subjects.

On Tuesday 11 September our speaker was the ever popular Bob Brown of Cotswold Garden Flowers who highlighted a dazzling array of plants flowering from autumn until Christmas. He bought a selection of plants which guests and members snapped up before he even started his slide show!

Tuesday 9 October, Johnnie Amos the broadcaster will host a Q and A session for people to ask about everyday problems and hopefully find solutions!

Tuesday 13 November is the AGM followed by Andrew Mikolajski, a prolific author of over 30 gardening books who will talk about wall climbers and roses for smaller gardens.

We still need to find a vice chairman to serve on the committee so do come along and get involved!

Our last meeting of the year is Tuesday 4 December where Graham Spencer will talk about new plants and the future for our gardens.

All meetings are held at Roundwood Park School from 7.45pm, for 8.00pm, until 10.00pm latest and include free refreshments of tea/coffee and biscuits - and on 4 December wine and mince pies are served!

There is ample free parking available within the school grounds.

The society is keen to attract new members who have an interest in gardening, to meet up to discover new ideas and make new friends in the local community.

Membership is currently only £10 per year. We look forward to meeting you soon.
