Toddlers had an egg-cellent Pancake Day on a Harpenden farm this Shrove Tuesday.
Youngsters gathered on Hammonds End Farm in Harpenden to take part in crepe-themed fun, which all started in the chicken coup.
Parents and toddlers at the Muddy Mice club collected free-range eggs from the hens, mixed their pancake batter, and used the home-made treats to race across the farm.
Muddy Mice is hosted twice weekly at Hammonds End by Bernie Davis and Emma Roberts.
Emma said: “We love seeing the children outside enjoying themselves and Pancake Day is the ideal opportunity to have some fun while showing the children where their eggs come from.”
It was the first pancake race most of the pre-schoolers had taken part in.
Parent Ruth said: “We really enjoy getting outside and following the seasons down on the farm and celebrating special events outside in the beautiful countryside here on our doorstep.”
