More than 200 people attended the opening of the new pavilion at Harpenden Cricket Club.
The pavilion was opened on Sunday, June 30 by Harpenden town mayor Cllr Brian Ellis.
At the opening, the whole club - from under 12s to the captain of the over-70s team - took part in a cricket match, and an under-nines girls match was played on the outfield during the interval.
The pavilion now features three changing rooms, a players' balcony and improvements to the lighting, heating and lounge facilities.
Harpenden Cricket Club chairman Simon Wade said: "The new pavilion provides a tremendous facility both for sport and community use. We are already one of the largest clubs in Hertfordshire and we now expect to grow further, particularly within the junior boys and girls programmes."
Funding for the project came from Harpenden Trust, Harpenden Building Society, Sport England and donations from members.
