Harpenden Cricket Club needs £7,500 to complete the rebuild of its current pavilion, which dates back to 1970.

The club can boast 400 junior members, but it says without improvements it will be forced to relocate from Harpenden Common where it has been based for 150 years.

The club's key sponsor, Chelford Fabrics, is fully supporting the fundraiser and is excited other businesses have thrown their support behind the campaign – for example estate agents Ashtons will waive £2,500 off the sales fee for anyone who has pledged £750 and Tring Brewery has offered anyone donating £300 a five-person tour.

Money from the crowdfunder will go towards new changing rooms, outdoor furniture for spectators, improved playing and catering equipment, and a defibrillator.

The club already received grants for the build, which will be 25 per cent bigger than the current site and cost £342,000.
