Harpenden Common Golf Club has opened its new Tour Shed with the help of Ryder Cup veteran Ken Brown.

The Tour Shed is designed to help golfers improve their ability levels, their equipment and practice their skills.

Mr Brown, who now works as a golf broadcaster, said at the opening: “This is an absolutely fantastic facility and I would encourage everyone to come down and try it out.

“You can come here in the evening and enjoy your golf and when it is snowing.

“This is something every club should have.”

The head professional at the club, Rob Leonard, said at the opening: “We’re really happy for this day to come. We have worked a long time with the council and the club to get this organised.

“I would like to thank everyone involved with it.”

The Tour Shed is open to anyone from 8am to 8pm and can be booked via www.robleonardproshop.co.uk/booking/consumer
