A one-off charity comedy night is being held at a clothing boutique in Harpenden to raise money for a local hospice.
Comic Energy is hosting the comedy night at Fullwoods Ladieswear Boutique in Leyton Road on Friday, November 23.
Store owner Linda Fullwood is raising money for Peace Hospice Care in memory of her mum, who was helped by the hospice during her illness.
Peace Hospice supports more than 1,500 people and families every year across Hertfordshire, and needs to raise £4 million (roughly £11,000 per day) in order to run and develop its services.
Comic Energy, whose mantra is ‘bringing London comedy back to the ‘burbs’, said: “If we can sell-out our comedy night with 160 tickets we can give the Peace Hospice £1,700, which is still only 15 per cent of their daily requirement, but it will help.
“Anyone who’s ever lost anyone close will understand the importance of the work hospices do in making the last days of our loved ones’ lives peaceful.”
The evening will be compered by Drew Taylor, and performers include Paddy Lennox, Klaus White, Stephen Trumble and Daniel Kielty, with headline act Matt Green. Tickets are available at Fullwoods Boutique or online at www.comedynightharpenden.eventbrite.com
