Harpenden Carnival attracts 10,000 visitors for annual event and procession

About 10,000 people attended this year's festivities, which took place on June 8 on Harpenden Common.

Visitors could enjoy the annual procession, archery, a zipwire, ferret racing, displays from local clubs, a motorbike stunt show, and live musicians on the Main Arena and Main Stage.

The theme for this year's event was Get Active.

Harpenden mayor Brian Ellis said: "Despite weather concerns earlier in the day, the rain cleared in time for the procession to kick off the event, and attendees enjoyed a slightly windy but beautiful afternoon.

"A huge thank you to residents for coming out, and to sponsors, stallholders, and performers for making it a fantastic day."

Harpenden Town Council partnered with Harpenden Round Table to host the event.

Although the exact figure has not yet been calculated, it is estimated that thousands of pounds were raised for various charities, including the Playground Action Rothamsted Committee (PARC).
