A Harpenden tennis club served up a treat with the opening of their new extension.
The Elliswick Lawn Tennis Club clubhouse refurbishment, which cost over £140,000, was opened by Harpenden mayor, Cllr David Heritage, and his consort, Cllr Teresa Heritage.
With full membership, the club had reached breaking point and the extension to the clubhouse includes a bigger lounge, additional catering space and office facilities.
The increased space will allow them to hold other events such as comedy nights, pilates and wine tasting.
The tennis club in Browning Road has seen a growing number of juniors wishing to play.
Club chairman Eric Rovick said: "The club now has a light and airy feel and will be a great venue for all our events here."
The club originally opened in 1924 has seven all weather artificial grass courts, of which two have floodlights.
