A charity golf tournament on Harpenden Common has raised nearly £10,000 to help homeless people in Herts.
The golf day was held on Thursday, September 27 to support local charity Herts Young Homeless, and was sponsored by Hertford-based construction and property consultants Westside Services.
The event raised £9,200 in total for the charity.
The winning team, Team Lama, consisted of European senior tour caddie Mike Morley, alongside Samuel Morley, Lewis Watcham and Lee Sinclair, who defeated the GPFM Juniors by a point and received the coveted HYH shield.
Players Nick Wright took home the trophy for ‘longest drive’ and Martin Ball was awarded for being ‘nearest the pin’.
HYH’s head of fundraising Kathryn Salmon said: “Our golf day is always one of our biggest fundraisers and this year was no exception raising just over £9,200 which will go towards helping some of Hertfordshire’s most vulnerable people.
“Thank you to everybody who attended and made the day possible. We have been overwhelmed by your generosity.
“HYH would also like to thank the staff at Harpenden Common Golf Club, those who donated auction and raffle prizes and our sponsors - Westside Services, Echelon Consultancy, Ashbourne Insurance, Cariad Marketing, Evodo Services, GPFM, Harrisons Accountancy, John Robinson and The Concrete Network.”
