Budding rock stars picked up their instruments to perform their first gig at a Harpenden school.
Young musicians from the The Rock Project Hertfordshire played a set list of more than 30 songs in front of nearly 300 people at Roundwood Park School.
Covers included Ed Sheeran, Deep Purple, The Monkees, Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters and classic Rolling Stones anthems.
Students practiced at their weekly sessions learning guitar, bass, singing or drums from professionals.
Organiser Angela Han said: “The performance was absolutely superb, particularly when you realise that our students have only been rehearsing since the schools opened four months ago.
“Before that many of them had never even picked up an instrument and now they’re entertaining a packed hall and getting the audience dancing in the aisles. It was an unforgettable performance.”
Student of the Year Awards were also presented to pupils who consistently practiced - the winners were Lily Sharp, Max Tunnicliffe, Sam Warren, and Ruan Hutchinson.
